Ingredients

4-5people
  1. 1 cupduli urad dal(soaked)
  2. 1chopped onion
  3. 1 pinchhing(asafoetida)
  4. 1 teaspoonCumin seeds
  5. 1-2chopped green chillies
  6. 3-4 tablespoonschopped Coriander leaves
  7. 5-6chopped curry leaves
  8. As per tasteSalt
  9. As required Oil for deep frying

Cooking Instructions

    Soak duli urad dal in a bowl for 3-4 hours.

    Drain and grind until the batter is fluffy and smooth texture. Transfer the batter into a bowl and beat it. Then add 1chopped onion +chopped green chilli +curry leaves +Coriander leaves +cumin seeds +hing+salt.

    Heat the oil in a kadai over the medium flame. Wet your palm with water. Take medium lemon sized portion of the batter on your palm press it gently and make a thick round shaped vada.

    Make a hole in the center.when the oil is medium hot slowly slide the vada in it. Add 4-5 vada at a time.flip and deep fry both the sides until they turn light golden brown and crisp.

    Remove and place all the vada on the kitchen towel.
