Ingredients

  1. 3beetroot
  2. 6red chilles
  3. 1 teaspooncumin seeds
  4. 1 teaspooncoriander seeds
  5. 1gooseberry size tamarind
  6. leavesCurry
  7. 1 teaspoonsalt(as per taste)
  8. 1 table spoonoil
  9. 1/4 teaspoonmustard seeds
  10. 1/2 table spoonurad dal
  11. 1 table spoonchana dal

Cooking Instructions

    Take beetroot,wash with water,peel out the skin,grated it with grater.keep aside.

    Keep a fry pan on medium heat,add oil,red chilli, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and fry for two minutes. Then add grated beetroot, tamarind and salt, saute for five minutes.

    Add a little oil, again saute for some more time, moisture goes out from beetroot. Remove from heat. Let it cool

    Transfer to a mixer jar. Grind it into a fine paste.

    Keep a fry pan on medium heat, add oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal,curry leaves and red chilli,fry it changes colour,add the grinded beetroot paste.

    Mix well for about ten minutes in low flame. It becomes a thick chutney. Turn off the flame.

    Transfer to a serving bowl. It's very tasty. This beetroot chutney goes well with rice, idly and dosa. Enjoy the yummy beetroot chutney.
