Ingredients

40 minutes
3-4 servings
  1. 3 cupfresh fenugreek leaves washed and chopped
  2. 1/4 cupgreen or yellow moong dal
  3. 1potato cut into cubes
  4. 1 tbspoil
  5. 1 tspcumin seeds
  6. 1onion
  7. 1 tspcrushed garlic
  8. 1/2 tspgrated ginger
  9. 1-2whole red chilli
  10. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  11. to tasteSalt

Cooking Instructions

40 minutes
  1. 1

    Firstly, wash and soak moong dal in water for half hour.

  2. 2

    Drain it completely and keep aside.

  3. 3

    Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let it crackle.

  4. 4

    Add sliced onion, crushed garlic, grated ginger and whole red chilli.

  5. 5

    Saute till onion turns translucent.

  6. 6

    Add turmeric powder and soaked dal. Saute on medium high flame for 2-3 minutes.

  7. 7

    Add in the washed and chopped fenugreek leaves, potato cubes and salt.

  8. 8

    Mix well. Cover and cook on low flame till potato gets soft and cooked properly.

  9. 9

    Serve hot with makai, jowar or bajra roti.
