  1. 2 tspoil
  2. 1 tspmustard
  3. 1/4 tspmethi / fenugreek
  4. pinchhing / asafoetida
  5. few Curry leaves
  6. 4shallots, halves
  7. 2chillies, slit
  8. 1tomato, chopped
  9. 1/2carrot, chopped
  10. 1potato, cubed
  11. 5beans, chopped
  12. 5 piecesdrumstick
  13. 1/2brinjal / baingan, cubed
  14. 1/4 tspturmeric
  15. 1/2 tspjaggery
  16. 1 tspsalt
  17. 1 cupwater
  18. 3/4 cuptamarind extract
  19. 1 cuptoor dal, boiled
  20. 2 tbspcoriander, finely chopped

Cooking Instructions

    Firstly, in a large kadai heat, 2 tsp oil and splutter tempering.add 4 shallots, 2 chilli and saute for a minute till it changes colour.further, add 1 tomato and continue to cook.now add mixed vegetables and saute for 2 inutes.further, add ¼ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp jaggery, 1 tsp salt and 1 cup water.

    Mix well, cover and boil for 10 minutes.now add ¾ cup tamarind extract and mix well.cover and boil for 10 minutes.additionally, add 1 cup toor dal, water and mix well.

    Add in 4 tsp of prepared sambar powder.boil for a minute, until the flavours are well absorbed.add in 2 tbsp coriander leaves and mix well. Finally, enjoy idli sambar with hot steamed idli.
