Ingredients

  1. 1 blockfirm tofu, cut into small pieces
  2. 2 tablespoonssesame oil
  3. 1 clovegarlic, minced
  4. 1small onion, minced
  5. 1 teaspoonground ginger
  6. 1 teaspoonsalt
  7. 1/2 teaspoonblack pepper
  8. 2 cupsbeef or vegetable broth
  9. 2 cupswater
  10. 1 teaspoongochujang (Korean chili paste)
  11. 1 teaspoonsoy sauce
  12. 1/4 cuptoasted sesame seeds
  13. 1/4 cupchopped green onions

Cooking Instructions

    Heat the sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat.
    Add the garlic, onion, and ginger. Stir until fragrant.
    Add the tofu and stir until golden brown.

    Add the broth, water, gochujang, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
    Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
    Add the green onions and sesame seeds. Stir well.

    Serve the Korean tofu soup hot with rice or noodles.
