If there's something that bores me and really annoys me is always having ugali with greens. So to make a change the monotonous colour, I thought of beans.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsmaize flour
  2. 1 cupmilk
  3. 1/2 cupwater
  4. 1 cupbeans, cooked
  5. 2large tomatoes, chopped
  6. 1large onion, chopped
  7. To tastesalt
  8. Butter

Cooking Instructions

    Mix water and milk in a clean sufuria and bring to boil.

    Add flour and stir continuously till thick.

  3. 3

    Once ready, set aside for later use.

  4. 4

    In another clean sufuria, put butter and add onions. Cook untill golden brown.

  5. 5

    Add tomatoes, stir and cover to cook for 2 minutes.

    Meanwhile, smash the beans and set aside.

  7. 7

    Add the smashed beans. Stir then add water, cover and bring to boil.

    Serve with ugali.

This recipe did not work for me. I don’t drink regular milk and I decided to use coconut milk and I don’t think that worked. Also I used canned black beans. The directions were a bit confusing, had to season with what I thought would taste right. It turned out more pasty looking.
