Ingredients

  1. 50 gramsemolina
  2. 200 gramghee
  3. 150 gramjaggery
  4. 250 gramcoarse wheat flour
  5. 1 tablespoonkatlu powder
  6. 2 tablespoonmixed nut butter
  7. 2 tablespoonbrown sugar
  8. 1/2 cupcoconut powder
  9. 1 cupcashews,almonds and pistachios
  10. 1/2 teaspooncardamom powder

Cooking Instructions

    Dry roast nuts in microwave for 1 minute. Set aside and let it cool.
    Once cooled blitz it in a food processor adding 2 tablespoon brown sugar. Set aside.

    In a pan add ghee and let it melt on medium heat. Once melted add wheat flour and roast for 2 minutes. Keep stirring at all times. Add the semolina and let it cook until golden brown. Add the nuts butter, cardamom powder, coarsely ground nuts and coconut powder and mix well.

    Turn of the gas and add jaggery and mix well. Transfer in a tray and garnish with slivered pistachios and shredded coloured coconut. Cut the desired shape immediately and let it cool before storing.

Hi all, my name is Rekha. I am Indian by birth, born in Uganda, East Africa, I now live in Wilby, Northamptonshire/England.I retired at the age of 60 due to severe arthritis. I am married, a mother and grandmother.I learnt to cook from my parents at a very young age of seven. I started to cook simple dishes for the family and gradually learnt how to cook. My mum use to cook at our shop where we sold Indian sweets and savouries. I have learnt a lot from my mum. I started cooking fusion dishes and learning from others. My strong point is making sweet dishes and innovating new dishes. I can improvise and be creative in leftover dishes.I love being on Cookpad because I can share and learn new recipes. I have also made a lot of friends.
