Khichdi is one of the most favourite comfort food , from young to old , everyone loves it , a tasty and healthy treat , full of fiber and flavours
Steps

Wash properly rice and dal and soak for an hour

Then heat ghee in a pressure cooker on low heat and add jeera, cloves and heeng
- 3
Let them splutter then add haldi powder and soaked dal and rice, without water, roast them for 5 minutes

Then add salt and water, cover the lid and cook for one whistle on high and 3 - 4 minutes on low heat, now switch off the gas

When the pressure cooker completely cools down then only open the lid
- 6
Now take out the khichdi in tart mould, press it nicely, then unmould it on a serving platter, in this way serve the other portions of khichdi

Garnish with grated paneer, papad, hung curd and coriander leaves, all these accompaniments are must with khichdi, as it is said khichdi ke chaar yaar, dahi, papad, ghee aur achar

Serve with curd, green chutney, lemon pickle and ghee

It can be made with any other dal also like chana dal, moong dal, masoor dal etc
