Ingredients

  1. For Filling
  2. 3Bagels (Plain or Whole wheat) or choice of 6 slices of your favourite bread
  3. 1 CanNo salt added flaked tuna -Drained
  4. 1/2Medium onion -Finely chopped
  5. 2Small dill pickles (low sodium) -Finely chopped
  6. 3 tbsp (45 g)No salt Cottage cheese (Recipe # 16737353) or Plain Greek yogourt
  7. 1/2 tbspDijon mustard
  8. 1/2 tspGround black pepper
  9. For Topping
  10. Mozzarella cheese or low sodium cheese -Shredded
  11. Dash, Ground black pepper, ketchup, and/or hot sauce to taste
  12. This recipe is intended to be compatible with the diet of individuals with diabetes, kidney and heart disease, but please consult your doctor, renal nurse, nutritionist or other medical professionals!

Cooking Instructions

Prep 10 min, Cook 10 to 15 min

    Place a rack in middle of oven, and preheat oven to 350 ℉ (180 ℃).

    Cut Bagels in a half, and chop Onion and Dill pickles finely.

  3. 3

    In a mixing bowl, combine Onion and Dill pickles (from step 2), Cottage cheese, Dijon mustard, Black pepper together.

    Divided the filling to 6 potions and spread it on to each Bagels (crust-side down); place them on a baking sheet.

    Sprinkle shredded cheese on the top of each, amount adjusted for your daily nutritional needs.

    Bake 10 min at 350 ℉ (180 ℃). Adjust bake time based on your oven. Broil a few minute to finish if you prefer to have a brown and crusty finish.

    Serve and Enjoy! You can add Dash, Ground black pepper, ketchup, and/or hot sauce to taste.
