Ingredients

  1. To make sambhar-
  2. 2 cupstur / arhar dal
  3. 1 cupvegetables (bottle gourd, brinjal, ivy gourds, drumsticks, pumpkin)
  4. 2onions
  5. 3tomatoes
  6. 2 tspsambar masala
  7. to tasteSalt
  8. 2 tspred chilli powder
  9. 1 tspturmeric powder
  10. 2 tspjaggery
  11. 2 tsplemon juice
  12. ForTempering-
  13. 2 tspoil
  14. 1/4 tsp split mung dal
  15. as requiredcurry leaves
  16. Foridli-
  17. 500 gramsidli batter
  18. to tasteSalt
  19. Forchutney-
  20. 1 cupdry grated coconut
  21. 2 spoonschopped onion
  22. 2-3Garlic cloves
  23. 2 spoonsdahi
  24. 1/4 cupcoriander leaves
  25. 7-8curry leaves
  26. to tasteSalt
  27. 2 spoonsroasted chana daal
  28. For tomato chutney-
  29. 3Chopped tomatoes
  30. 1chopped onion
  31. 1/4 cupchickpeas
  32. 2 spoonsurad dal
  33. 1 spoongrated coconut
  34. 1 spoongroundnut
  35. 7-8 curry leaves
  36. 5-6red chillies

Cooking Instructions

    For making sambhar, boil vegetables and toor dal in pressure cooker. Chopped tomato and onions. Take pan add oil and put it on flame. Add split mungbean and Curry leaves. Now add tomato and onions. Saute for 5-10 minutes. Add salt,red chilli powder, turmeric powder, sambhar masala. Saute for another 5 minutes. Meanwhile, smash toor dal and vegetables with blender (in cooker). Now add water in toor dam and vegetables (in cooker) and put on flame to boil. Add sauted tomato and onions into cooker.

    To make idli, first preheat steamer. Now add salt and little bit water in batter. Grease idli dish. Pour batter into it. Steam for 10-15 minutes.

    To make chutney, mix all ingredients of chutney and grind them in mixer. For tempering, heat oil and add mustard seeds, split mung bean and Curry leaves. After spluttering pour on chutney.

    To make tomato chutney, mix all the ingredients of tomato chutney and roast them for 10-15 minutes. Now blend all the ingredients in mixing jar with adding water.
