Ingredients

  1. 1 cupdate paste
  2. 1 cupmilk
  3. 1 cupmixed nuts
  4. 1 cupoats
  5. 1/2 cupmilk powder
  6. 1/2 cupjaggery
  7. 1/2 cupmilk powder
  8. 1 tablespoonkhas khas
  9. 3 tablespoonghee
  10. 1/4 teaspooncardamom powder
  11. Few strands of saffron

Cooking Instructions

    In a plate add nuts and microwave for 90 seconds. Let it cool completely. Pulse coarsely in a grinder jar.
    In a grinder jar add oats and pulse it. It should be of coarse texture.

    In a pan add 2 tablespoon of ghee and oats powder and roast until lightly golden. Add milk powder and mix and cook for 2 minutes while stirring. It will become dry and powdery. Remove and set aside.
    In the same pan add milk and bring it to boil. Add in date paste and stir. Keep stirring until milk evaporates.

    Add in jaggery and oats powder and keep stirring Add further tablespoon of ghee and cook until it leaves sides. Finally add nuts and khas khas and mix well. Transfer in a greased tray. Let it cool completely and cut in desired shape. Alternatively you can use mould to shape. Enjoy ☺️

Hi all, my name is Rekha. I am Indian by birth, born in Uganda, East Africa, I now live in Wilby, Northamptonshire/England.I retired at the age of 60 due to severe arthritis. I am married, a mother and grandmother.I learnt to cook from my parents at a very young age of seven. I started to cook simple dishes for the family and gradually learnt how to cook. My mum use to cook at our shop where we sold Indian sweets and savouries. I have learnt a lot from my mum. I started cooking fusion dishes and learning from others. My strong point is making sweet dishes and innovating new dishes. I can improvise and be creative in leftover dishes.I love being on Cookpad because I can share and learn new recipes.
