Even if I buy a bottle of store-bought chilled pork shabu-shabu sauce, I can never finish it all. It always ends up expiring before I can use it up. That's why I made this recipe! You can prepare any amount you'd like at home.

Ingredients

1 serving
  1. 1 tbspSoy sauce
  2. 2 tspMirin
  3. 1/2 tspVinegar
  4. 1 tspLemon juice
  5. 1 tspSugar
  6. 1 tspHoney
  7. 1/4 tspDashi stock granules
  8. 1 tspWater
  9. 50 gramsDaikon radish

Cooking Instructions

    Peel the daikon radish, and grate. Transfer to a sieve and drain the excess water out by pushing it with the back of a spoon.

    Put the sugar, honey, dashi stock granules, and water into a heatproof container, and microwave for about 20 seconds at 600 W, and mix.

    Add the soy sauce, mirin, vinegar, lemon juice, and daikon radish from Step 1 into Step 2, and mix well.

    Here's a great summer dish that uses this sauce. It's a chilled chicken dish, cooked "shabu shabu" style.
