Ingredients

  1. 2 cupflour
  2. 1 tbspsugar
  3. 1 tbspyeast
  4. 1 tbsppowdered milk
  5. 2 tspcardamon powder
  6. 1 pinchsaffron
  7. 2eggs
  8. 1/4 cupoil
  9. 2 tbspyogurt
  10. 1 cupwater
  11. 1Oil for frying

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

In a deep bowl mix the flour, sugar, powdered milk, cardamon, saffron, and yeast.

  2. 2

Create a "well" in the dry mixture and add the water, oil, eggs, and yogurt. Mix until all the ingredients are incorporated, the consistency is similar to pancake batter.

  3. 3

Cover the bowl and place in a warm place for an hour or until it doubles in size.

  4. 4

After the dough has risen beat it with your hand or a spoon to deflate it.

  5. 5

In a frying pan add enough oil for deep frying and heat it.

  6. 6

Once the oil has heated take a scoop of the dough with your hand and drop it into the oil (drop it close to the oil so that the oil doesn't splash on you) or using 2 tablespoons scoop the dough with one spoon and use the other spoon to drop the dough into the oil.

  7. 7

Fry the dough balls until they are golden brown and place then on kitchen napkins to absorb any excess oil

  8. 8

Usually we eat these with date syrup, but you can also eat them with honey, simple syrup, powdered sugar, etc.
