Ingredients

8-10 servings
  1. 1/2 kgAssorted Goat meat
  2. 4 piecesOkporoko (stockfish)
  3. Smoked or Dried fish
  4. 5Fresh Yellow pepper
  5. 2 tbspgrounded crayfish
  6. Periwinkles (1 cup)
  7. Ogiri (optional)
  8. 2cooking spoonful of Palm oil
  9. Spices like uyaka, African nutmeg etc
  10. 2seasoning cubes
  11. 21/2 table spoongrounded Achi
  12. I handful of shredded Uziza leaves
  13. Water
  14. Onions
  15. I table spoon of black pepper
  16. Salt

    Wash and combine all the meat and stockfish in one pot.

  2. 2

    Season with onions, garlic, black pepper, salt, ginger and one seasoning cube then place on the fire.

  3. 3

    Allow to cook and if the stock about to dry up, add water and cook till the meat is tender.

  4. 4

    Add enough water to make soup, add the ogiri, crayfish, smoked fish and pounded yellow pepper, remaining oinions, stir and cook for 5 mins.

    Add the spices, taste for salt. Add the palm oil and the remaining seasoning cube, allow to cook for 10mins

  6. 6

    Add grounded achi, stir adjust the thickness by adding water (if necessary)

  7. 7

    Let the soup simmer on medium heat for 8_ 10 mins

  8. 8

    Add Uziza leaves, periwinkles and black pepper, stir to combine. Then leave to simmer on low heat for 5mins.

  9. 9

    Achi soup is ready. Put off and serve with pounded Yam, fufu, garri or Semovita.
