Take a fry pan. Heat it. Add chana dal and dry roast it on medium flame. Let it cool completely.

Take a mixer jar add grated fresh coconut, green chilli, dry red chilli, garlic, ginger, chana dal, salt and red chilli powder. Add coconut water little by little and beat it to a coarse mixture. Consistency of the chutney will be thick but pouring and texture will not be smooth it is coarse.

Transfer the chutney in a bowl.
Keep aside till use. - 4
Heat oil in a tardka pan. Add kardi patta and mustard seeds. Let them splutter for few sec. Switch off the flame.

Pour tempering over the chutney.
Fresh coconut chutney is ready to serve. - 6

Instead of coconut water...normal water can also be used.
