A European dish widely popular all over the world. Tonkatsu in Japan, Frakh Pane in Egypt, Milanesa in South America, Chicken fried steak in USA- all have one thing in common- meat pounded thin, breaded and then fried. Just like Schnitzel. Every region has their own way of making it and they are all awesome.

রান্নার নির্দেশ

50 mins
  1. 1

Step 1 – Cut the chicken breast in half horizontally.

  2. 2

Step 2 – Cover it with plastic wrap and using a meat mallet pound it thin.

  3. 3

Step 3 – Add salt and pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, dried basil, chicken soup seasoning, Dijon mustard to the chicken breasts. Mix well. Marinate for a minimum of 30 mins.

  4. 4

Step 4 – Set up for breading
Using 3 mixing bowl large enough to cover the chicken breasts- add flour to the first one, crack 2 eggs in the middle one and add panko breadcrumbs to the last one.

  5. 5

Step 4 – add salt and pepper to the eggs and mix well.

  6. 6

Step 5- add salt, pepper and smoked paprika to the breadcrumbs and mix well. It adds a nice flavor to the breading

  7. 7

Step 6 – coat both sides of the marinated chicken breast with flour, then add to the egg mix. Dip both sides properly. Then before adding to the breadcrumbs let excess egg mix drip of from the breasts. Then coat both sides nicely with breadcrumbs.

  8. 8

Step 7 – Put in the freezer for 30 mins. I find the breadcrumbs stick nicely and the chicken breast hold its shape nicely.

  9. 9

Step 7 – Heat oil on med hi heat

  10. 10

Step 8 – add the breaded chicken breast and fry 3-4 mins/side. Enjoy !!

I love cooking because its fun. It’s a way to express myself. Its an universal language which everyone understands. Cooking is an art where a doodle can be delicious. There’s such a large spectrum of experimentation, the possibilities are endless and the outcome is edible which is fantastic. Any process which involves all our 5 senses for gratification is bound to deliver joy and pleasure. Food is something to be shared. There is no right or wrong in cooking as long as its delicious. Cooking doesn’t have to be hard. It should be a mix of tradition, convenience and mostly indulgence. And it also should be about what works for you. Its all about experiencing the flavors of the world and enjoying it. It’s a continuous learning process which is never ending but its fun and fulfilling. Cooking is food for my soul. It gives me an opportunity to nurture my family and friends, express my love and care for them. Learning, exploring, creating, connecting with other cultures and people, inner peace, control of ingredients and techniques, making memories, passing on skills, learning about nutrition, participating in traditions and creating new ones, I can keep going- but these are the main reasons why I love cooking.Follow me on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKRcitFRiA5vBw20oGKnQDgInstagram: kiron_ahsan
