Instant Rava Handvo is a variety of Handvo. There are various famous Gujarati dishes like dhokla, dal dhokli, khandvi, undhiyu, thepla, etc, handvo is also one of them. Other variety includes using gram flour with vegetables. Giving a twist to the recipe by incorporating rava or sooji it becomes a satiety breakfast dish. It can also be a very good snack for the evening hunger pangs. This is a quick and easy-to-make recipe. So, try this recipe.
Instant Rava And Vegetable Handvo is a delicious and healthy dish from the Indian state of Gujarat. This is an excellent dish for breakfast or even a light dinner. This Rava Handvo looks like a savoury cake and is my favourite breakfast dish. This Handva is very healthy for kids.
Handvo is traditionally made by mixing rice, chana dal, urad dal and arhar dal. This batter is made just like Idly Dosa batter and needs time and a little bit of planning. This Instant Rava And Vegetable Handvo can be made immediately without fermentation. For this all you need is Rava/Sooji and some vegetables. You can use any combination of vegetables as per your liking or availability. All the other ingredients are commonly available in every Indian pantry.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cupRava
  2. 2 tbspgram flour (besan)
  3. 1 cupsour curd
  4. 2 cupwater
  5. 1midium size finely chopped capsicum
  6. 1midium size Grated carrot
  7. 1 cupboiled corn kernels
  8. 1midium size finely chopped onion
  9. 3-4 tbspfinely chopped green coriander leaves
  10. 1 tbspgreen chilly + ginger + garlic paste
  11. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  12. 1 tspgaram masala
  13. 1 tspred chilly powder
  14. 1 tspCumin coriander powder
  15. Salt as per taste
  16. 1small pouch of eno fruit salt + 1 tsp water
  17. 🎯 For Tempering Handva :--
  18. 1 tbspoil
  19. 1 tspmustard seeds
  20. 1 tspcumin seeds
  21. 1 tbspwhite sesame seeds
  22. 1/4 tspasafoetida
  23. 6-7Sweet curry leaves

Cooking Instructions

    First add rava in a large bowl, add sour curd and besan and mix well. Now add a little water and mix well. Now cover this batter for 10 minutes and keep it on the side.

    Then add chopped capsicum, grated carrot, corn kernels, chopped onion, green coriander leaves and ginger - green chillies - garlic paste and mix well.

    Now add turmeric powder, garam masala, red chilli powder powder, coriander - cumin powder and salt and mix well. Now pour as much pot as you want from this mixture in another bowl, add ino fruit salt and water and mix well. (Not to add eno Fruit Salt in all the batters, just add eno Fruit Salt in the same amount of pot)

    Now let's Tempering our Handva. For this, heat oil in a nonstick pan, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, white sesame seeds, asafoetida and curry leaves, spread the batter in it, cover the lid, cook one side for 6 to 7 minutes on low flame to become crisp and golden brown and turn it over. Now again add same tadka other side and cook the other side of the handva on slow gas flame to become crisp.

    Now our Instant Rava Handvo is ready which is becoming crispy and delicious, is ready to serve. Serve hot Handva with green chutney or sauce. This Handva is fun to eat with tea or coffee.

    Tips :-- 1️⃣ It is recommended to add lots of sesame seeds to the seasoning for a wonderful flavour.
    2️⃣ To prevent the handvo from breaking while flipping the handvo, it should be taken out on a plate, and then its other (uncooked) side should be placed in the pan and cooked again.
