Ingredients

  1. 2 cupssugar
  2. 3/4 cupbutter, softened
  3. 3eggs
  4. 2 cupsmashed bananas
  5. 1/2 cupsour cream
  6. 1 teaspoonbaking soda
  7. 1/2 teaspoonbaking powder
  8. 2 teaspooncinnamon
  9. 2 cupsnuts walnuts finely chopped
  10. 2 teaspoonsvanilla
  11. 2 cupsflour

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 300 and bake bread for 90 minutes. Lightly grease and flour two 8 x 4 bread pans.*Side note: I have changed the sugar amount from the recipe. It called for 3 cups. I thought it was too sweet. So I changed it to 2 cups. Also I have changed the sugar up by adding one cup regular sugar and one brown cup before. It tastes good that way too. Make the bread however you decide to.

  2. 2

In large bowl cream together butter and the sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla. Stir in the mashed bananas and sour cream.

  3. 3

In a separate bowl combine the flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda and walnuts. You can pick a different nut or dont use them or add chocolate chips.

  4. 4

Bake for 90 minutes until a tooth can be inserted and comes out clean.

  5. 5

Remove from pan and let cool on a cooling rack. Eat at room temp, still a little hot or cold. The banana flavor tastes stronger the next day or two.

This recipe doesn't show how much flour is needed. I guessed, so am waiting to take my bread out of the over to see if I guessed correctly!!

I am happily married on 3/17/16. I have one daughter who loves to help in the kitchen. She loves to make and try different recipes from all over the country. She wants to try curry next. I found out a month ago that I am diabetic and have decided to change my life style. I am on a low carb, sugar free diet. I will still post other recipes that I make for my family.
