Ingredients

10 minutes
4 (24 appe)
  1. 1 bowlmoong dal
  2. as required Water for soaking dal
  3. 1 piece ginger
  4. 2Green chilli
  5. to tasteSalt
  6. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  7. 1/8 tspasafoetida
  8. 1 tbsp cooking oil
  9. 2 tbsp raisins

Cooking Instructions

    Soak moong dal in water for 4 hours. Now transfer it in a mixer. Add chopped ginger, green chilli and salt to taste. Grind it to a smooth paste. Transfer it in a bowl. Add chopped coriander leaves and asafetida and mix. Beat the mixture thoroughly with hand till it becomes fluffy.

    Now grease the appe pan. Place it on low flame and pour 1 tb spoon dal mixture in each mould. Stuff 2 pieces of raisins in between. Pour 2 drops of cooking Oil on each appe and place the lid. Ciok for 2 minutes. Remove lid and flip the side and roast from other side also. It will turn golden.

    Demould the appes in a separate bowl.

    Serve hot with Sweet Tamarind Jaggery Saunth.

    These appes are made with 2 tb spoon cooking oil. They are high in protein and low fat.
