Ingredients

5-6 peoples
  1. For idli
  2. 2 cuprice
  3. 1 cupwhite urad dal
  4. 1/2 cuppoha
  5. to tasteSalte
  6. For sambhar
  7. 1 cuparhar dal
  8. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  9. to tasteSalt
  10. 2-3 tspoil
  11. 1/2mustard seed
  12. 10-12Curry leaves
  13. 2chopped onion
  14. 3tomato chopped
  15. 3 tbssambhar masala
  16. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  17. 1chopped brinjal
  18. 4 tbspTamarind pull
  19. 1/2 cupchopped bottle gourd (optional)
  20. 1 pinchHing (asafoetida)
  21. 2-3whole red chilli

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and soak rice,poha and urad dal separately for 4-5 hours

  2. 2

    Drain and blend in a blender together with salt and poha till smooth better

  3. 3

    Transfer the batter in a big bowl and cover and keep to ferment for 6-8 hours

    Add some water in batter make fine consistency and grease the iddli molds and pour the better in each mold.

    Steam that idlies for 15 -20 minutes..

    Your idlies is ready

    For sambhar:

    Wash the dal add it in a pressure cooker with salt,Hing and turmeric powder.

    Cook till done.

    Take a pan add oil when the oil is hot add mustard seed whole red chilli and curry leaves

    Add onion and fry for 2 minutes

    Then add tomatoes,brinjal and bottle gourd

  13. 13

    Add sambhar masala, chilli powder

  14. 14

    Then add some water and cook till brinjal and Lauki is soft

  15. 15

    Then add the cooked dal, tamarind pulp

  16. 16

    Cook for another 4-5 minutes

    Serve hot with idlies
