Ingredients

  • 2small pieces Jaifil (Nutmeg)
  • 2-3Javatri (Mace)
  • Halftsp Sabut kali mirch (Black peppercorns)
  • 1Badi elaichi (Black cardamom)
  • 1 inchpiece Adrak (Ginger)
  • 4-5(cloves) Lehsan (Garlic)
  • 8-9Hari mirch (Green chilies)
  • 2 tbsor as required pani (water)
  • 1/2 CupCooking oil
  • 1medium Pyaz (Onion) sliced
  • 1 tspZeera (Cumin seeds)
  • 2-3Darchini (Cinnamon sticks)
  • 10Sabut kali mirch (Black peppercorns)
  • 4-5Laung (Cloves)
  • Hari elaichi (Green cardamom) 3-4 -
  • 1& half tsp or to taste Namak (Salt)
  • 1 tspor taste Lal mirch powder (Red chilli powder)
  • Halfcup Dahi (Yogurt) whisked
  • 1Chicken stock cube
  • Podina (Mint leaves) chopped ½ Cup -
  • 2-3 cupswater or az required
  • 250 gmsChanay (Chickpeas) boiled
  • Chawal (Rice) basmati ½ kg (soaked)
  • 2medium tomato sliced

Steps

  1. 1

    In spice mixer,add nutmeg,mace,black peppercorns,black cardamom and grind well. Add ginger,garlic,green chilies,water and grind to make a paste & set aside.

    In pot,add cooking oil,onion and fry until light golden. -Add cumin seeds,cinnamon sticks,black peppercorns,cloves,green cardamom and mix.

  3. 3

    Now add grinded paste and mix well.Add tomatoes salt,red chilli powder and mix well for 2 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add yogurt and mix well. -Add chicken stock cube,mint leaves and mix well. -Add water,mix well and bring it to boil.

  5. 5

    Add chickpeas and rice,mix gently and bring it to boil. -Cook on medium high flame until water is reduced (8-10 minutes). -Cover and steam cook on low flame for 5-8 minutes & serve! Special Chana pulao is ready😍
