Apple pie oatmeal

I turned my favorite dessert into a healthy breakfast! This growing oatmeal is guilt free and under 300 calories. I have a sensitive stomach, so if you have an intollerance/allergy to dairy then this is perfect for you too!

I turned my favorite dessert into a healthy breakfast! This growing oatmeal is guilt free and under 300 calories. I have a sensitive stomach, so if you have an intollerance/allergy to dairy then this is perfect for you too!
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Empty instant oats packet and chia seeds into large, microwaveable bowl
- 2
Pour in water and microwave for 3 minutes, let the oats deflate for about 15 seconds to keep them from overflowing, and then microwave once more for 1 minute (if you're worried it'll overflow you can stop the microwave at the 30 second mark to cool)
- 3
After spending a total of 4 minutes microwaved let the oats sit in the microwave for 5 minutes. This time lets the oats cool and fully saturate in the water.
- 4
Place in the fridge for at least 45 min.
- 5
While waiting for the oats to grow and cream up you can make the "apple pie filling (topping)". Place a sauce pan on medium heat and throw in the diced apples, lemon juice, truvia, cornstarch, and spices. Slowly mix while the cornstarch thickens up the filling.
- 6
Once it begins to boil turn the heat all the way down and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- 7
Either pour oats into a bowl and top with the filling or you can pour the oats in the saucepan to combine with the filling.
- 8
Enjoy!

An apple a day keeps the doctor away!So how about stirring up your apple in the oats to get extra benefit? Yes you heard it right. Cooking oatmeal with mashed apple not only uplifts the flavour but also gives you extra nourishment. For more exciting taste, try cooking your oatmeal in fresh apple juice instead of water. I personally love creamy oatmeal so much that I can eat it almost everyday therefore I mostly add water or nut milk to my oats. Skip the sugar and add natural sweetners like I added apple and banana. It may not look that fancy but hey don't go for the looks as internal beauty is always more appealing than external beauty. This is perfect balanced meal for your morning breakfast and the best part, it gets ready in minutes. Just keep in mind the toppings you add to your Oats because we have to be careful with the calories intake too. Do not add too much of nuts/ seeds / fruits to oats just to enhance it's flavour cause this way you will ruin the whole purpose of consuming oats.Remember : Moderation is the key to fitness.#khana Vertika Tyagi -

I tried this recipe from Christina (id in this cookpad). This is so tasty and healthy, I made changes in the fillings, and when I cooked this, the oatmeal came out a bit dry (maybe I made mistake in the way I cooked it), so I added some more milk in it, until I met the consistency that I wanted. But overall this oatmeal tasted so delicious, try it! 😁😁😁 Yanny Widjanarko -

My kids have been loving baked oatmeal in their breakfast rotations lately and it's so simple to throw together this recipe and bake them on Sunday nights to have on hand for early school mornings. I bake this recipe in muffin tins, as they're more kid friendly and can be portable, but you could bake this in a 9x9" pan instead, for about the same amount of time. Christina -
