Poha recipe is a popular Maharashtrian breakfast made from flattened rice, herbs and spices. It is a staple breakfast in our home which we all love.
This onion poha or one can call it as onion poha is a poha recipe made with chopped onions and onions are called as ‘kanda’ in marathi.
The color of the dish is amazing and the snack recipe is so irresistible… The poha or pohe is basically a flattened rice or beaten rice and can be used in various forms of making food.

Ingredients

  1. 1.5 cupspoha (thick variety) – white beaten rice or flattened aur
  2. 1/2 cupfinely chopped onions
  3. 1medium-sized onion
  4. 1/4 teaspoonturmeric powder
  5. 2-2.5 tablespoonpeanuts
  6. 1 teaspoonmustard seeds
  7. 10-12curry leaves
  8. 1 teaspoonchopped green chillies
  9. 1 and 2 serrano peppers
  10. 2 tablespoonsoil
  11. as per tastesalt
  12. ForGarnish
  13. 2-3 tablespoonscoriander leaves (cilantro)
  14. as requriedNamkeen of your choice

Cooking Instructions

    Take a pan/wok, into it, add oil, and heat it.

    Add mustard seeds and let them crackle.

  3. 3

    Add finely chopped green chilies and saute.

  4. 4

    Add peanuts and roast for few seconds.

  5. 5

    Add chopped onions and saute for few seconds.

  6. 6

    Into it, add salt as per taste.

    Now add turmeric powder.

    Wash poha properly.

  9. 9

    Add the washed poha into it.

  10. 10

    Mix the poha well with the cooked onion mixture.

    Add some freshly chopped coriander leaves into it.

    Switch off the flame and add some namkeen to it if you want it will increase the taste.

    Now add some raw onion to it and serve it hot.
