Ingredients

20 Minutes
4 servings
  1. (1) For Soaking
  2. 1 1/2 CupPoha
  3. 1/4 TSPTurmeric Powder
  4. (2) For Kanda Poha
  5. 2 TBSPOil
  6. 1 TSPMustard Seeds
  7. as required few curry leaves
  8. 2Green Chillies (Finely Chopped)
  9. 1Boiled Potato
  10. 2Onions (Finely Chopped)
  11. 1/4 TSPTurmeric Powder
  12. to tasteSalt
  13. 1Lemon Juice
  14. Handfulfreshly chopped coriander leaves
  15. For Garnishing -
  16. as required Nylon sev

Cooking Instructions

    (1) For Soaking -
    In a large bowl take poha, do not take thin poha as it turns mushy as soon as you add water.
    Rinse in water and drain off the water. Add turmeric powder and mix lightly.

    Rest for 8-10 minutes, or until the poha softens without turning mushy or sticky.

    (2) For Kanda Poha
    In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, curry leaves green chillies. Splutter the tempering.

    Add boiled potato, onions and saute for about 5 minutes until onion softens slightly. Now add turmeric powder, salt, lemon juice and mix well.

    Lastly add poha and mix well, cover and cook on low flame for 5-7 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and nylon sev and serve hot with masala chai and enjoy.
