Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 1/2 cupsplit Moong Dal
  2. 2green chillies
  3. 1/2 inchpiece of ginger
  4. 2 tbspchopped coriander
  5. 1chopped onion
  6. as per tasteSalt
  7. 1/4 tspbaking soda
  8. For tempering
  9. 1chopped green chilli
  10. 1 tspoil
  11. 1 tspmustard seeds
  12. 1/2 tspurad dal
  13. as requiredFew curry leavesWash and soak dal overnight

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and soak dal 4-5 hours

    Rinse well and grind with ginger and green chili or add minced ginger and green chilies to grind dal.

    Heat Oil and add mustard seeds and urad dal,cook till Urad dal turns golden.

    Add chopped Green chili and curry leaves(tear the curry leaves into small pieces)

    Add tarka to grind dal.

    Add chopped onion and coriander.Add salt as needed.

  7. 7

    Heat Appe pan and put few drops of oil in each cavity,let oil in the cavities heat.

    Add baking soda to the batter and immediately put a small amount into the Appe pan.

    Cover and cook on both sides till golden.

    Serve with coconut chutney and enjoy healthy breakfast.
