Ingredients

  1. 1/2 bowlMoong dhuli dal
  2. 1/2 bowlMoong chhilka dal
  3. Poha 2 tb spoon
  4. Water as required
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1/4 tspRed chilli powder
  7. 1/2 tspCumin seeds
  8. Black pepper seeds powder
  9. 1Onion
  10. 2Green chilli
  11. 1Tomato
  12. Chopped coriander leaves 1/2 bowl
  13. 2 tspcooking oil
  14. 1/4 tspMustard seeds
  15. 1/8 tspAsafoetida
  16. Curry leaves 8

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and soak both dals in water for 4 hours. Soak poha for 1/2 an hour.

    Discard water and Grind both dals and piha to a fine paste. Add salt, red chilli and black pepper powder and cumin seeds and mix.

    Wash peel and chop onion, tomato, green chilli and coriander leaves and mix in dal paste.

    Heat an appe pan. Grease it with cooking oil. Add 1 tb so of mixture in each cavity. Cover it and cook on medium flame for 3 minutes. Pour 2-3 drips of cooking oil on each appe. Now flip the side and cook from the other side for another 3 minutes. Transfer it in a plate.

    An ideal tiffin for kids with chutney of their taste.
