Phirni
A sweet and creamy delight! One of my faves...
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Liquidise all the ingredients (full cream milk, extra large egg, Nestle cream, taystee wheat, rose syrup, cardamom syrup, ground cardamom or cardamom essence, pink colouring) together besides the condensed milk and corn flour.
- 2
Add enough milk to corn flour to make a thin runny mixture, then add to liquidized mixture.
- 3
Pour mixture into a pot, and on low to medium heat slowly bring mixture to a boil...stir continuously...I use a whisk.
- 4
Once mixture starts to boil, reduce heat and allow to simmer for 10 min to thicken. During this time add in 3/4 tin (or to taste) condensed milk.
- 5
Pour in bowl(s). Allow to cool and then place on the fridge for at least 2 - 3 hours. Decorate with sliced almonds or strawberries.

Simplest pudding of all time: Phirni Simplest pudding of all time: Phirni
Classic Indian rice pudding, Phirni, banks upon the simplicity of flavours of the handful of ingredients that go into making it. Commonly prepared in Northern India, especially on the festival of Eid, Phirni is a creamy dessert made with ground rice and milk. Traditionally served in shikoras i.e. earthen clay pots, Phirni is flavoured with saffron and/or cardamom and is garnished with dried fruits. Karan Tripathi (Food Fanatic) -
