Ingredients

serves 4 servings
  1. 1 cupgreen moong sprouts
  2. 1 tspginger, grated
  3. 1green chilli, slit
  4. 5-7curry leaves
  5. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  6. 1 tspred chilli powder
  7. 11/2 tspcoriander - cumin seeds powder
  8. 1 tspsugar
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Tempering :👇
  11. 11/2 tspoil
  12. 1 tspcumin seeds
  13. 1/4 tspasafoetida
  14. 7-8curry leaves
  15. Besan - dahi ghol (mixture) : 👇
  16. 1/2 cup sour curds
  17. 1 tspbesan
  18. Other Ingredients :👇
  19. Chopped coriander for garnish

Cooking Instructions

    Take a saucepan.Keep water in it & boil. Once the water starts boiling, add moong sprouts. Add salt & a pinch of turmeric powder. Cook till moong becomes tender.

    Moong Curry : Take oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds & let them splutter. Add asafoetida & curry leaves.

    Besan - dahi ghol (mixture) : In the mean time make besan -- dahi ghol (mixture) by mixing besan & curds. Whisk it well so it is lump free. Add 1 - 2 tbsp of boiled moong water to make the mixture a little thin. Keep aside.

    Add this ghol (mixture) to the tempering. Add boiled moong. Add ginger.

    Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder & coriander - cumin seeds powder. Add salt. Cook for 5 minutes.Switch off the flame. Serve Dahiwale Khatta Moong Curry with chapati & rice for a full meal. Relish this delicious sumptuous Gujarati meal on a cold winter day or night & heal your body with its warmth.
