  1. (For Rava Idli):-
  2. 1 cupRava
  3. 1/2 cupcurd
  4. Pinchbaking soda
  5. 3 tbspwater
  6. to tasteSalt
  7. Oil for greasing
  8. (For Sambhar):-
  9. 1/2 cuptoor dal
  10. 1/2 tbspchana dal
  11. 1/4 tspturmeric
  12. 1/2 tspcoriander powder
  13. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  14. 1 cupchopped vegetables ( carrot, beans, bottle guard
  15. 11/2 cupwater
  16. 3 tspoil
  17. 1 tspmustard
  18. 1 tbspSambhar powder
  19. Pinchasaofetida
  20. 1-2dried red chilli
  21. leavesFew curry
  22. 1Onion petals
  23. 1Tomato chopped
  24. 1/2 tspginger garlic paste
  25. 1/2 cuptamarind extract
  26. 1 tspsalt
  27. 11/2 cupwater

Cooking Instructions

    Take a medium mixing bowl add Rava, curd, salt add water to get a medium consistency batter. Keep aside for 20 minutes.

    Heat water in a streamer. Just before steaming add baking soda in the batter and mix well.

    Pour the Rava idli batter in greased idli moulds.

  4. 4

    Place the idli stand in the steamer.

    Steam the Rava idli for 10-12 minutes.

    Remove the instant Rava idli from the mould and serve with sambhar or chutney.

    (Sambhar Method: pressure cook toor and chana dal with 1/2 tsp turmeric, salt, mix vegetables, 11/2 cup water for 5 whistle.

    In a kadai heat oil add mustard seeds, pinch asaofetida, dried chilli, curry leaves onion saute for a minute add ginger garlic paste saute few seconds add coriander powder, red chilli powder, add tomato and tamarind extract cook 2-3 minutes.

    Now add in whisked dal also add 11/2 cup water and adjust consistency, add 1 tbsp of sambhar powder mix well cook for 5 minutes heat off.

    Seve with idli or vada.
