Wash Poha twice under cold running water. Drain out all the water. Let it rest for 10 mins.

Till the time get ready with all chopping stuff. Chop onions, green chilies and cilantro...Cut lemon in half. Scrap fresh coconut...

Heat oil in a Kadhai..Once oil is hot enough add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter nicely.

Add curry leaves and peanuts. Fry peanuts until they turn light brown..add green chillies and onions. Saute till onions turn translucent. Add turmeric powder and asafoetida.

Now start adding little soaked poha at a time and keep mixing. Keep the heat low to avoid sticking of poha at the bottom of pan add salt, sugar and squeeze lemon juice. Mix well. Cook covered for 4-5 mins on low heat until it gets nice steam...

Now poha looks ready. Add some fresh coconut and cilantro.

Serve this delicious kanda poha by garnishing it with some fresh coconut, cilantro and sev.
